10:53PM - Weekend!

Friday night was BJ's fried food and candles party! We made delicious sweet potato latkes, some potato ones, and then some cheese latkes, which were dissapointing. Also played a hilarious game of dreidl and hung out and talked about gay porn. Especially after the UPS guy showed up in the middle of the party. "I'm here to collect some COD!" (We bet you ARE.)

This morning I slept in and decided to get my X rays later. Went to the farmer's market, obtaining frozen meat and squash and garlic - and DRIED cherries! :) Then dropped in on L and had a conversation about various things - I'm actually grateful to have had these conversations b/c she's so different from me, and it really makes me re-evaluate my stuff and remember that other people have valid ways of living and dealing.

After BJ and I went to Restorative Yoga. Really amazing, at points it felt like I was running my own hands softly over my body and cuddling myself. I had a little challenge because the teacher was very into coming around and tucking blankets over us and helping us with props - but I learned to accept that level of help and caring. I mean, that's why I'm in class, right? For help.

Then sushi dinner at Sake Maki - a set japanese dinner I can eat! Lemongrass chicken, nom nom! And I found 20$ flannel sheets a Superstore.

Then BJ and I went out to see Boondock Saints: All Saints Day. Don't. Just don't. It was bad. I can't recall the last time I was this dissapointed in a film. It had none of the sublime cleverness or tension of the first film. There were a total of FIVE GOOD MINUTES. That was it.

Now I'm going to have a hot bath and finish Snow Crash.

11:06PM - December has hit!

December has hit, full-force.

I've been really physically broken lately - even when my right hip is (mostly) in, my arthritis and random aches are totally acting up. I might be having a mild fibro flare. *shake fist*

Really been enjoying spending a little time each day tidying, reading and watching movies. Life is pretty mellow despite all of the above.

This weekend: Latke party, winter farmer's market, ear stretching, Boondock Saints II: All Saint's Day, yoga and solstice.

PS: I REALLY like muscle relaxants.

PPS: I also bought BOAR today. One large roast to freeze and give to my brother for Christmas and two small chops for me to try sometime. What was that about near-vegetarianism?

7:59PM - sons and daughters of hungry ghosts

-Sang at the work Xmas thing and had lunch with co-workers. Becoming social/sociable at work is coming along. It's a good place to rehearse my 'getting along with people' skills.
-went to yoga and did a gentle flow class. though my heart will always belong to hatha and yin, I think I need to incorporate some flow/vinyasa into my practice to get me more active - plus challenging myself to do things outside my comfort zones. (like lift one leg to the side during downward dog!)
-breathing is so good for me. I almost fell asleep during a deep pigeon, or at least was very trancey. I got to a place later in class, reminiscent of a really great piercing scene, where my focus on breath and feeling it's unity in my body was amazing.
-random food inspiration led to me eating a stir-fry with carrots, brocollini and mung bean vermicelli. tasty and good.
-Went to the Doctor. She's sending me for X-rays of my right hip, right shoulder and left hand and then we have an appointment in January so I can be referred to sports medicine doctor or a physiotherapist or the Arthritis Clinic.
EDIT:
-I checked my grades and I passed my last course! This means only ONE MORE CLASS and I'm done my (longoverdue, drawnout, eclectic) BA.
-I'm teetering further and further towards vegetarianism. Half the time when I eat meat (which I'm doing less and less) I don't feel as well as I could after. And I'm learning to love beans.
